Get Involved

There are many ways to enhance our students’ educational experience and their future career journey. Below are just a few.

  1. Lend or Donate a Model
We would like to show models of aerospace systems in the AE201 class. Please contact our office if your corporation has logic and/or state machine models of aero systems that you are willing to share or donate for educational purposes. We can be reached at (734) 764-3310.
  2. Share Your Journey
Our students would greatly benefit academically if you share information about your career, journey and your vision for aerospace engineering. Below is a list of suggested questions that may be helpful to begin writing. Please include a short bio and a picture, emailed to Kimberly Johnson.

    • What is your educational background, and how did you decide to study engineering?
    • What was your first job in industry?
    • What is the most challenging part of your job?
    • Which person in the field has inspired you the most? In what ways?
    • Do you have any advice for students studying aerospace engineering?
    • What would you say have been the greatest advances of the last decade in aerospace engineering?
    • What is your vision of the future of aerospace engineering?
    • Are there any special projects that you are working on that you’d like to tell the students about?
  3. Be a Guest Speaker
Present a special lecture at our undergraduate AE285 or graduate AE585 course. Contact Professor Pete Washabaugh for AE285 (PDF) being taught each Friday at 3:00 PM during the Fall term only. Professor Dan Inman coordinates the AE585 (PDF) graduate course which is taught each Thursday at 4:00 PM. Both courses have an average of 125 students enrolled.
