Biography
Amanda Winters joined the Aero Department in October of 2020 as the Program Manager for the new, online, Global Aerospace Leadership Master of Engineering (MEng) program. As this is a groundbreaking initiative, she oversees everything from the program’s initial approvals process, strategic development, and launch to its ongoing operations and evaluation and assessment.
With over a decade at the University of Michigan, Amanda has a range of experiences launching and developing new and innovative programs. Most recently, Amanda served as the Associate Director of Mcubed, where she managed a $15M+ interdisciplinary research seed funding program, launched a student-focused initiative, and oversaw strategic technology implementation. She also spent time in the College of Engineering’s Honors and Engagement Programs Office where she helped launch the Common Reading Experience for all first-year engineering students. Amanda also worked in the Office of Development where she helped plan the University’s major development, ceremonial, and presidential events.
Prior to joining the University of Michigan in 2011, she held roles at Madonna University and the Michigan Attorney General’s Office.
Amanda holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and business from Kalamazoo College and a master of arts in higher education administration from the University of Michigan.
While not at work, Amanda enjoys hiking with her family and dog, watching documentaries, traveling and exploring new places, and attending Michigan football games.
