Ryan Kitson wins AIAA Best Student Paper
Aerospace Engineering doctoral student Ryan Kitson was awarded the AIAA Atmospheric Flight Mechanics Best Student Paper at the 2017 AIAA Aviation Forum in Denver, Colorado, last week. The written technical papers and oral presentations were judged on criteria including significance of the technical issues, meaningful conclusions of the research, overall clarity and quality of explanations.
Ryan’s paper with co-author and advisor Professor Cesnik is entitled “Unsteady Fluid-Structure-Jet Interactions of Agile High-Speed Vehicles.” It continues their research investigating how to leverage multi-physics interactions to improve high-speed vehicle maneuverability and agility.
