Vice President & Deputy Director, Leidos Innovations Center (LInC)

Dr. Artie Mabbett is the deputy operations manager of the Leidos Innovations Center (LInC), and the P&L operation within the Dynetics Group of Leidos. LInC’s mission is to research and develop innovative technologies and solutions for the Leidos enterprise by capturing and executing externally-funded R&D programs that lead to programs of record. LInC develops advanced technologies and products from undersea to space and cyberspace. 

Prior to joining Leidos, Dr. Mabbett was the founding Director of Advanced High Speed Weapons for Raytheon Missile Systems. In this role, he was responsible for developing, growing and delivering both offensive and defensive high speed and hypersonic systems to future product lines.  

Dr. Mabbett spent thirteen years in the Defense Department, most recently as the Director (SES) of the LRASM Deployment Office, a DARPA/Navy/Air Force co-staffed office responsible to deliver an Urgent Operational Capability of the Long Range Anti-Ship Missile by piloting the new accelerated acquisition model. His previous roles include Program Manager at DARPA Tactical Technology Office, and Program Manager at Office of Naval Research.

Dr. Mabbett received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, dual MS degrees in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan, a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech, Certificate of Management Excellence from Harvard Business School, and holds a Professional Engineers Licensure in the State of Virginia. He was awarded the DARPA Program Manager of the Year Award (2013), the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service (2016) and the DARPA Game Changer Award (2019).
