Chinmaya Aditya and Houyu Dong won the 2021 Martin & Anne Sichel Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Aerospace Engineering Master’s Program

Aditya is working with Associate Professor Mirko Gamba on the prediction of shock train motion within a scramjet engine isolator based on pressure measurements within the isolator. He will present the results of this research at the SciTech Conference in January 2022.

He will graduate with his MSE in May 2022 and plans to work on aerodynamic design and analysis in the aeronautical, aerospace, or automotive industries. Aditya earned his BS in aerospace engineering from UCLA in 2020.

Dong, who is advised by Professor Krzysztof Fidkowski , is conducting a literature review of transonic flutter and simulation of transonic flutter over a wing. He earned his BS in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering and a BA in mathematics from the University of Washington in 2020.
